Getting a file usiing mizzilla

Hi
I want to get a file from my downloads thing to extract itself. I'm using mizzilla firefox's browser and I hit ctrl j to open it
I found the file but then when I tried copying it it wouldn't work. It was a 7z file so I whent to file to see if I could extract it. There was no option to extract the archive. I would have redownloaded the file but I don't know the link. I accidently erased my downloads folder located on my computer.
Does anyone know what to do? Thanks

If you haven't emptied your recycle bin, the downloads folder should still be there. You can restore it, and get the file that way.
Secondly, you can't extract files within Firefox itself. You have to go to wherever the file is located, point to it, and extract as you said before.

By default it be in my downloads folder. Firefox normally offers you a chance to save it.
